Hello Leah,

Thank you for thinking about me and my old Dad.

He is doing well, things have all gone quiet about the valve replacement though. Not sure if he has decided not too and is not telling me or if he is waiting for the hospital to make contact.

It is his choice though and at 82 I've got a feeling he isn't that bothered about the valve thing anyway. I'm certainly not mentioning it or pushing him.

you know what...i wouldnt either colin..cos its stress he doesnt need and hes probably got his own idea on the way he wants things to go anyways...
glad to hear things are quiet though...hugs.

Good to hear things have calmed down. I'm realizing no matter what, each of us needs to live life on our own terms. Accepting that is sometimes difficult. He's lucky to have you as a son!!!

I agree, It is hard for family to "stay out" of some of these decisions but still need to make suggestions. As we get older we want to look at what the expected results of surgery and what we think is quality of life after it has been done.
