What flavors are you currently vaping, and what did you start with?

Michael,

I'm really new to it and don't really know what I'm doing. I went into the shop had a good chat with them, tried a few out and walked out with one of these.

The fluid I'm using is a grape flavor and is at 18mg nicotine strength. I was a 20 to 30 a day roll-up (hand rolled) cigarette smoker, which are quite strong. I did buy a 'virginia' flavor as well but have hardly used it as I want to break the association with real smoking.

I used to make up bullshit stories/excuses/justifications, like Helen...I also said my heart issues were electrical and had nothing to do with smoking. I too said my lung function was fine. I wouldn't admit that my cough was smoking related.

Then my spouse got bladder cancer. It was most probably caused by his pack a day smoking habit. He has now quit smoking, a week before me.

Were getting older now Helen, and we're supposed to be wiser.

Colin,

It is great that you found an alternative. Most people start with a "tobacco" flavor trying to approximate what they were used to with analogs, but soon move on to other flavors. I am into berries (blackberry, blueerry, etc).

What ever works, go for it!!

Thanks everyone,

It has been a week now off the weed. I never thought it would be as easy but thanks to these electric flutes it is. It is obviously early days but I'm feeling confident.

Two weeks and a day now.

Still tooting the electric flute and still off the 'stinkies'. I've had no urge to smoke despite having half a pack left over.

So glad to hear you are continuing the good fight! I'm so happy you found something that works for you! My husband had smoked for 45 years - and heart disease was never on his radar screen; nicotine plaque is sneaky! Cheers for anyone who can kick the habit!

Colin Pearson and MKM:

You may care to check out Smookfree, there is a fair amount of useful information

11 Sept 2012 / Idiopathic Ventricular Fibrillation
At about 2AM I started storming at home, and in the ambulance, and in the ER.
Sometimes I restated and sometimes I had to be defibrillated.
A number of times I went into arrest and stopped breathing.
External defibrillation count exceeded 18 and at some point the team induced a coma.
24 hours later I was revived and have never had another event.
13 Sept 2012 / Medtronic ICD was implanted.
My diagnosis is still idiopathic.

I'm still 'given up' and now talk about myself as an ex-smoker.

The electric flute thing has been helpful.

I am happy it has been working for you. Once your mind and body lets you, you can quit it all.

Colin and MKM :congratulations:

Is it correct, in this case, to wish that someones light goes out or perhaps stays out.
This is a bit disconcerting but I am glad you are not smoking.
Really not good for any of us.

Well....

I'm still an ex-smoker and still playing the electric flute type thing. I have reduced the nicotine concentration twice since starting it and probably am quite close to taking up playing the harp or castanets now.

To any of you crazy fools still smoking, try an e-cig, if I did it, you can.

That's great! Nice to be able to taste food again huh?

I am down to 3mg and occassionally a 0 mg mix. I have also cut back on vaping tremendously; usually in the morning with my coffee and in the evening after dinner.

Congratulations Colin, I know you have to feel better!
