ICD new patient

Post by pfargo » March 13th, 2018, 9:34 am

Hi am as new ICD transplant receipiant. So many fears and questions, experiencing chest pain when I cough or sometimes take deep breath. Was just revived about a week ago after 30 mins of CPR by paramedics. Should I still have pain? Still have a lot if tightness around surgical sight how long does that last?

Sorry for the delay in responding !!

A lot of the recovery process is also your mental wellbeing. Anxiety, which is a very common response, can play some very cruel tricks on you and give rise to all sorts of phyical symptoms.

It does sound like the Paramedics did their job very well in saving your life and at the same time bruising your ribs!

Hopefully since you posted you have improved and a lot of that pain has subsided.
