I'm the big 60. First device 2001, 2nd 2204 and third 2007. No shocks thank goodness. Came close a few times but converted on my own. :xmasclap:

I will be 78 on Wednesday 12/21/11 but today I am only a young 77. :xmaslaf: I got my first ICD in 2003. Out of nowhere I had SCD at that time. Had it recalled and replaced in 2005... Just got my 3rd one on November 29th.

Several months ago, I celebrated the 14th anniversary of my 39th Birthday ! <giggle>

My entire heart odyssey began while driving my car to the office, exactly 21 months ago today. At this hour, 21 months ago today, I was in a coma and on life support at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts; the beginning of a rather lengthy hospital stay. It's been a long 21 months with a lot of hard work; never a day off. It's been worth the hard work. But in the last 21 months I've had the opportunity to celebrate two more anniversaries of my 39th birthday !

Story of my life. I hit the average, per Al (mrag).
MI 1/21/11; SCA's 2/3/11 and 2/4/11
I have a Boston Scientific Teligen ICD and a Boston Scientific Promus stent,
I guess my cardiologist is sort of a BS kind of guy.

wowwow
Jenn you really made my day. I am 37 almost 38 and have had mine for 2+ years. Only one inappropriate incident last year that gave me 4 shocks lightninghit but after being reset have been great ever since.
St. Jude ICD since 10/09/2009
Long QT w/documented 12 sec V tach episode that self-resolved.
Dual option ICD paces me if I go below 50 and doesn't shock until 200 (cause I exercise).
Shocked 4 times inappropriately due to exercise after setting inadvertently lowered to 160.

I am so shocked to see that I'm one of the oldest around here--78 in November. Surely don't feel that old. Didn't know so many of you are youngsters who have ICDs. By the way, that is one of my great granddaughters I'm holding in my picture.

Oh come on Suzie, be honest, that photo had to have been taken at least 10 years ago. You couldn't possibly look that good at 78. You are a wonder and what a joy to have a great grandchild.
