 Re: I need a hug
Elizabeth, here another hug for ya... I can't believe what you have been through. How special to be the 1% of people that have this issue Just hang in there, the good news is they found it before things got bad. ::Also, a moderator note, I moved this into the 2010 posts since it is recent.::

 Re: I need a hug
Elizabeth,
Sorry to hear of ur ordeal. It just boggles my mind for someone to ask u r u ok while u r right in front of them having seizure and shaking violently, and she is asking u if u are ok.. Is this the same EP who inserted the 3rd lead, if so then i would definitely look for a second or even 3rd opinion. If done right the 3rd lead helps tremendously when the ventricles beat in sync. I hope they get to the bottom of things.
Sending Prayers and best wishes ur way. Im sure things will work out for u.
God bless us all always

And now for the words doctors like/hate the most: Get a second and third opinion before you make your decisions on surgery. I wish all doctors were perfect, just like us truckers <snort!>.

 Re: I need a hug
My dear Elizabeth - here's another hug: and another: Am just so sorry you are having to go through all this. My Cardio said the 3rd lead was the most difficult to place and the first one she did took 2 hours - all others were much longer. Yes, I would get at least another opinion. Love, Eve & Blabbermouth 111

Hi Elizabeth, I just returned from three weeks in Canada with not much computer access and am catching up on the posts. I am so sorry after all that trouble with the hiccups you have more problems. Sending you hugs.....

 Re: I need a hug
Oh Elizabeth, what an ordeal you have been through. Here is I must agree that I would seek a second and maybe even a third opinion and I would try to find the absolute best doctor for this type of surgery. Even though nobody likes having to go back for more surgery, it sounds like you really need that 3rd lead. Maybe you can find a doctor who is highly trained for this specific procedure and can figure out a way to make the lead stay. I will definitely keep you in my prayers! Hang in there!! More hugs, Wendy

 Re: I need a hug
You know what, I feel 100 percent better just knowing I have such wonderful people on my side! It really does make a difference.
I have gotten the names of a couple of doctors for second opinions, and will probably do that in the next few weeks. I have more lab work coming and another visit with the EP in two weeks, dragging one of my girls with me for a second set of ears.
Love you all. Thanks for being there for me.

Elizabeth-
You poor thing!, that sounds like a horrible experience. However, if your ever gonna flop around like a fish where would be a better place???
Seriously, stay vigilant to get the answers you need. You will be in my prayers.

 Re: I need a hug
A hug from me too, Elizabeth! So sorry about all the trouble with that lead! I agree - 2nd and 3rd opinions help, if only to help you process through all the options and find the best person for the job. My husband had open heart surgery - but just for a valve repair. It didn't look fun, but he didn't have much pain at all - just more tiredness for a couple months, and then slowly got better with rehab and time. Is there any way to do that procedure with the DaVinci robot, where they go in through your ribs but don't have to do the open heart thing? Keeping you in my thoughts! Sue
