OT: Birthdays

Post by ROBO Pop » November 28th, 2017, 1:24 pm

So what is it with Birthdays here anyway? I mean most announcements are for people who never posted and nobody knows.

I've been a member for over 8 years and never received a Happy Birthday salutation and you don't hear me cry.

Granted I've never registered a date in my bio but what date to use? When my butt was slapped for the very first time, or how about one of the times I've died and been resurrected, or maybe the date I became a born again virgin? So many options.

Seriously I don't get the fixation on announcing strangers Birthdays. And I doubt I am the only one who gets mildly annoyed sorting through multiple Bday announcements to find important posts like Rugby...

It is nice to be recognized for another year on this earth. I do, however, look at whether or not the person is active before posting a birthday wish. I believe it says when they were last on the site when looking at the birthday's for the day. If within the past two months, I would do it. Otherwise, I agree it fills up the page with too many posts.
