one month on a diet

Post by ml1851 » September 26th, 2010, 12:13 pm

Its been a month sence i started my diet again and I've lost 5 lbs. Not as good as I wanted I expected to lose about 8 lbs a month. I've stayed on pretty good but the less active the harder its getting. So I will stay on I have aprox 40lbs to go before I could consider to stop. And of course the min I get to that weight the dr will tell me to lose more.

That's really good. And the slower that it comes off, the more likely it is to stay off. It's not just water weight.

With all the meds we have to take, and the lessened exercise, it is tougher. But you can do it!

Good for you on the progress you made so far. Rock on!

:congratulations: Don't beat yourself up. I believe that a steady slow loss program is so much better than the folks who lose 40 lbs then gain it right back. It has been 2 years for me and I am still slowly losing a little each month. So eat healthy exercise and lose a little at a time. wavhi

According to some folks, that prime rib may be helping you lose some weight! They claim that protein doesn't put on the pounds, that it's low-fiber, low-nutrient carbohydrates that cause problems. So, some prime rib with steamed veggies and some fruit sounds good to me... (now to mop up the drool from my keyboard before it shor^&%$%ts ou!@#t.

Glad you let yourself enjoy something (prime rib is a good choice) --
and good luck on getting back to reality now (:
Just take it a day at a time, or an hour at a time if you have to.

:congratulations:

It's consistency that counts and a lifestyle change as well. You are on your way!

I am over 85 pounds lighter than when I first diagnosed with all my heart problems 6 months ago and holding steady at 195 pounds on
a 6' 3" frame. If I can do it, anyone can!
