Re: Why did I think this way????

My best guess: We're very good at denial and very slow to make changes to our lifestyles. We fight to recover and get back to normal... and when it's too slow in coming (according to us, no one else!), we blame ourselves. Whatever your favorite spectator sport, haven't you seen people struggling to ...

Re: Sotalol Shortage

Thanks for that article, Bob. This hits close to my heart because Sotalol is keeping my arrhythmias at bay. Without it I'd have many more incidents of VT than I do now.

Re: A Man Begging for an ICD?

As for me, if I find myself dying of something painful and progressive, like cancer, I'll have a good long talk with those involved and possibly decide to deactivate the D in my CRT-D. No "possibly" for me, the D would definitely be deactivated. Had a conversation with my EP on this type situation....

Re: ICD went off for the first time (and then 10 times more)

And here's another thought: Perhaps when we're pushing our bodies' limits we're doing damage that doesn't appear to affect things at that time, but does show up later when we're not expecting it, like during those relatively gentle warmups. As for the procedure, I'd follow Chrissy's advice. I hope w...

Re: A Man Begging for an ICD?

As long as they died without a MI first, then they got off "lucky" as far as pain or awareness is concerned. But imagine undergoing that pain, struggling to reach a phone or other device to call for help as your body succumbs to the encroaching darkness... As for me, if I find myself dying of someth...

Re: Welcome Ed

Are you experiencing any unusual heart rhythms? Some of us without arterial blockages have had problems stemming from the heart beating erratically. In my case, having the ventricles beating out of sync apparently caused my heart to dilate and lose its pumping power (EF below 20%) until I had my SCA...

Re: O/T (Well Mostly) RIP Tom Petty

It's frustrating to see first responders and the media struggle with understanding Sudden Cardiac Arrests... I still meet people who've known me for years who tell me how lucky I was to survive my "heart attack" when I've never had one. As for Tom Petty videos, here's one where the video and song so...

Re: OT/ Politics -Fugitaboutit. Lets talk food.

I have heard people claim that going totally vegan for a few months then trying to eat something with animal products in it (french fries used to be fried in beef tallow?) resulted in gastric distress.

Does anyone know if that's true?

I'm not over 60 but loved it anyway, lol! :mutt: I used mashed potatoes, they're lighter and fluffier than the spuds They're heavier with the gravy. You do put gravy on yours, right? We always did back in Tennessee where I grew up. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6177/6252180693_2043805231.jpg
