Re: Do you eat shrimp?

Read the shrimp labels, some have much lower sodium than others. Same as with chicken, if it's the 1.99/lb on sale, then it probably has salt water infused. My duh moment...we were vacationing in Belize for the first time this past February and their traditional meal is stewed chicken and black or r...

Re: o/t what did you sign up for???

Helen, might I throw a couple suggestions out there?? We all know that it can be hard on the caregiver as well and they start not taking care of themselves. Sounds like Willie is a great guy but you both may want to consider a couple things to help take a load off. If finances allow, hire a cleaning...

Re: O/T Intro.......

TruckerRon's post made me rethink. I take back my first post and will share this second thing instead/also. Don't know why I didn't think of this first. This usually surprises people the most...I am a huge UFC fan. Ultimate Fighting Championship (mixed martial arts). My all time favorite fighter to ...

Re: O/T Intro.......

I am an animal lover and generally prefer their company to humans. We own 120 acre farm and at one point or another have had these animals (some were part of my son's 4-H projects): sheep (baby lambs are so cute), cows, horses, goats, turkeys, chickens, rabbits, pheasant, whitetail deer, dogs, cats,...

Re: Rough week-end

ROBO, Sorry you are feeling crappy. I know you take Lasix but did you try increasing it? Did that help at all? I know you won't be able to leave the house but you may be able to breathe. When I couldn't breathe (couldn't get through grocery store either), it was fluid around and in my lungs but I ne...

Re: Heated clothing- battery operated

freckles, the battery would be more than 6" away but the "wiring" or whatever magic makes the panels warm up would be closer, I believe it connects to a USB cord from the battery. Just wondered if anyone had asked their docs about it before or used them. mrag, I use the hot hands warmers all the tim...

Heated clothing- battery operated

At the risk of some off topic comments, can we wear battery operated heated clothing? I get so cold now, I am contemplating one of those shirts, gloves and socks that have a little power pack with heat in them. Is this okay for those of us with an ICD? Typically the battery/power pack goes in a pock...

Considering what I've seen others try to get away with, I would guess she could consider you carry on baggage for no extra fee.

Re: Atrial fibrillation and migraines/auras

After my comment yesterday morning, I had the aura thing happen yesterday afternoon. Now, I know some of you are thinking mind over matter here, but I was busy at work when the light started flashing. I did not notice anything heart related during the time. I was just ticked cause I knew the light h...

Re: Atrial fibrillation and migraines/auras

Margaret, That is an interesting connection that I think may have merit. I don't have a problem with AFib but I am paced 100% of the time. I have been experiencing more of the auras though since my implant. I get the flashing lights with blind spots in my vision for a little while then sometimes a d...
