Re: Atrial fibrillation and migraines/auras

After my comment yesterday morning, I had the aura thing happen yesterday afternoon. Now, I know some of you are thinking mind over matter here, but I was busy at work when the light started flashing. I did not notice anything heart related during the time. I was just ticked cause I knew the light h...

Re: Atrial fibrillation and migraines/auras

Margaret, That is an interesting connection that I think may have merit. I don't have a problem with AFib but I am paced 100% of the time. I have been experiencing more of the auras though since my implant. I get the flashing lights with blind spots in my vision for a little while then sometimes a d...

Re: O/T what do you think..Question

Will the timing of the nuclear test really make a difference? Can it wait? I certainly can understand that you'd want to postpone it for now. So, my thinking would be along the lines of yours. The body can only handle so much at once. A good discussion with a trusted doctor.

Re: Slightly OT: Need your input

My friends have a BM chart in their bathroom, say a notebook or white board, with date, time, texture, odor, and even little sketches. Gross, but it's amazing how many people play along who use their bathroom! They leave it out for all to see and share. Second suggestion, put a movie you've been mea...

Ha, Garya, I'm guessing the chances of letting mrag and robopop handle things are "not bloody likely". Although, I certainly do enjoy them.

Re: Welcome Jeannie

Hi Jeannie, I am 47 years old and have a similar diagnosis. I have had my ICD for just over a year and have had no issues whatsoever with a shock. The defibrillator part of my ICD is secondary for me- it's main function in me is to pace my heart, as I believe would be the case for you as well. My bi...

Re: OT-Chemotherapy day 1

For what's it's worth, when I was 23 years old, I was diagnosed with lymphoma and also had a bone marrow transplant (now I have heart damage from the chemo used), but it was the worst experience of my life. 4 months of basically non-stop extreme chemo and another year of follow up and basic isolatio...

Re: OT - Chess Behind Bars

Leah,

It shows the book on Amazon but then says currently unavailable. So I'm not sure it will ever be available. BTW, Carl makes more if you order direct anyway. Amazon takes a good portion.

Re: PTSD

Hi Karen, I have never had a shock storm, so I do not know what it is truly like and can only imagine. I am sorry you have to deal with the PTSD now. Might I suggest a therapy/companion dog? They can really calm a person and if it's a trained dog, may be able to alert you when something is not right...

Re: A Painful Arrhythmia Story

Matt, I just finished reading your story and I am so sorry for all you both have been through. I know others on here have had bad experiences also, but I will tell you that some of us have had good ones too. I live in Vicksburg, Michigan, United States, and am extremely grateful for the treatment I ...

Mrag, I was sure your story was going to end with some misunderstanding at Best Buy with you trying to trade in your spiral bound, paper notebook instead.

Robo, I've often wondered the same thing with the glasses?? I think I've waited too long to get them, because now I can't see myself well.

Re: Lasix Question

Leedur, I have similar issue as you. Sometimes I can tell when I have fluid around my lungs because I get wheezy along with minor sob. I take Lasix only then. The rest of my body does not retain fluid though, so I too feel a little dehydrated and seem to drink more. Ironic, isn't it?? So far, that w...
