Re: Post Op Fever

My Latitude still reads nightly. I never know when it does unless I see the light come on. My heart is doing well now so not sure I even need nightly. But I know it reads nightly because my doctor's office has called me while on vacation to make sure it didn't become disconnected because it didn't r...

Re: Post Op Fever

Rugmankc, are you on any other meds? Based on what you said, I don't think you are but...I had trouble with a few because they were dropping my BP too low and causing dizziness and definitely a groggy feeling. Just thought I'd mention it. They can keep adjusting them until you are comfortable with it.

Re: Soreness several years out

Hello, in response to the initial question, yes I still have soreness. It sometimes is tender to the touch and I also have soreness around it in the muscle area. I especially feel it when I've been bouncing around in an off road vehicle or hauling wood. I have talked to my doctor and he has offered ...

Re: Pacing at the same time

Has anyone noticed the light on their home monitor go off when it "reads" you? My latitude unit has such a bright light that I have to cover it with a black cloth to sleep (I can't sleep with any light in the room). But I do see the light still come on through the fabric once in a great while, durin...

Re: Not one thing but another

Chrissy, so sorry to hear it's only getting worse. Life certainly is not fair. Hoping for things to turn around for you soon. Time for you to watch some comedy on the tv to get some good laughs. Laughter takes your mind off things for a while. Maybe old I Love Lucy reruns?? Take care.

Re: Burning sensations in body after inplant

Kathy, I did have what I would call a burning sensation around my ICD, as well as into my armpit area for a while- I'm going to guess up to 6 months out. It was most noticeable if I stretched in any way. I remember it when getting out of bed in the morning too. It did go away. My doctor described it...

Re: Feel like ICD digging into shoulder

Hi Kathy, It's probably as others have said and it's just trying to get situated under the skin, but by all means mention it to your doctor at your next follow up or call them sooner if it's really a problem. There's no need to be in pain. Mine took a couple of months for the swelling to completely ...

Re: Health insurance Disability

Kathy, this is a good question. Pretty much the only topic not allowed are political ones. Unfortunately, I'm not a big help in this area but wanted to suggest some resource options. My cardiologist's office has a social worker available to help with questions like this, maybe yours has something si...

Hi Anne & Don,

Are you worried about Don's health traveling or just the issues with getting through security? Getting through security is non issue since they are so common now. Please post more info. Welcome to the group.

Re: ICD- defibrillator and pacemaker

Komlas, Sorry, but I have to ask the question... what does your 80 year old Dad want? Is he all for having an ICD (or something) implanted? You will also find other discussions on here regarding the defibrillator choice. It is a very personal choice on how you want to go when your times up. A lot of...
