Re: Topical topic

Well, since I always wear something bright to funerals (I don't do the dark, dismal thing), I would suggest getting the gaudiest urn you can find. You will always be the conversation starter - or the elephant in the room.

Re: OT: WTF

Funny thing is, I don't even drink alcohol! And I could do without the air conditioning but my husband is the big sissy about it. I just require a bathroom in my camper, so I don't have to walk to a vault toilet at 2:00 am (and 4:00 am and so on).

Re: OT: WTF

Robo, here's something fun to take your mind off things a bit. I had a sucky weekend last weekend. It has been HOT here in Michigan also. So we decided to go camping "up north" in our camper with air conditioning. The first night we stopped to stay at a friends, we couldn't hook to his electricity t...

Re: Huge Prblem!

Leah,
I know what you mean by "stinging" feeling. I had that too at the beginning. I believe it was put as the muscle adjusting, it did go away after a while.

Welcome to the group! We're here for you. Yes, everything you've said is normal. It is scary at first and definitely a life intrusion but it does get easier.

Re: I can read....

I have not had an SCA (just CHF) but do have trouble with the reading also. I talked with my doctor about the "brain fog" and switched beta blockers which does seem to make a difference for me. I was even concerned enough that I thought I should try to stimulate my brain more with crosswords and sod...

Re: Shocked, now have PTSD

Hi there. Welcome to our club. There are at least two of us on here that have heart issues now do to chemo. I too had a bone marrow transplant in 1993 which then caused congestive heart failure a couple years ago. I am sorry about the shock storm. I have not experienced any shocks as of this date. I...

Re: Zapped again... the sequel

Codman, so sorry to hear about this happening in the grocery store. Those floors are not forgiving. And if your town is anything like my small town, everyone in the entire area would have heard about it happening within 15 minutes.

Hope your head is feeling better and you get things figured out.

Re: Welcome Shayanna (Shay)

Shay, I was on vacation last month when your first post came in and didn't see it til just now when I was reviewing the intro board. Regarding the bra issue, yes I too had lots of difficulty with this. I don't particularly like sports bras as they appear to flatten me out. So, for me what I found I ...

Re: Reading Tea Leaves and other nonsense

They seem to have all surgery patients do the night before and morning of scrub down now, no matter what type of surgery. My husband goes in for shoulder surgery for a massive rotator cuff tear next week and he has the same instructions. They are now realizing how many people get sick AT the hospital.

Re: Getting My First ICD

My take... emotionally it was hard for me in the beginning when they told me I'd need one. I had just been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and told that I would be on medication the rest of my life for the heart, would need a low-sodium diet and would need the ICD (CRT-D) to live a long life...

Re: Ladies please only!!!!

Sorry, Leah, I'm of no help. Haven't had a period in 25 years- chemo left the ovaries shriveled up and they disappeared. So, I don't have to deal with those things. Sounds like you don't really know what the cause is though, right? I've had kidney stones and I don't think you could mistake that if t...

Re: Device replacement

Melissa, I will be thinking of you and hoping for an easy replacement surgery. It's such a pain to change things up when everything is going so smoothly... BTW, how often does the unit beep at you? Since we both have Boston, I was curious. Can they shut the beeping off? That part would drive me insa...
