Re: multiple shocks

There is no way of knowing what your future health will be. Life has few guarantees. I've only been shocked twice and it was not that bad. I don't run around daily worried about getting shocked.

Re: Concerned scar

Leah.... In 1998, I had coronary bypass surgery (5 grafts). They took part of my radial artery (forearm) and left what I considered an ugly scar, 8" in length. It took a couple of years before it finally looked normal. I've actually had fun with those that noticed the scar telling them it was from a...

Re: multiple shocks

Welcome to the group. Assume you notified your doctor. They will be able to answer your question. Doesn't sound normal but could be it was saving you from cardiac arrest.

Re: OT- Exciting times coming up

Chrissy First...Congratulations. With all your health battle background, I doubt anyone else would make a better representative. Don't know about you but when I've something exciting to look forward to, it just seems to distract from or diminish some of the daily worries, pains, etc. Look forward to...

Re: calling all Yanks...

Would have to wonder if a Life Insurance company could consider this as suicide and possibly deny your beneficiary. Think I would get a doctor's excuse for your pending absence.

Re: OT-LOWER BACK PAIN

Chrissy, Sorry you are suffering with back pain. Early 2014 at the time I was getting the ICD, I was also having severe lower back and hip pain. X-rays, bone scan, CT scan and nerve tests at neurologist. Orthopedic doctor said bone spurs, stenosis, degenerative discs, etc and arthritis. Any and all ...

Re: Another Shock

@MKM Don't think it would help or make any difference as to how I viewed the shock. Yes it did make me feel better and doctors office confirmed appropriate shock. It's such a sudden event, over before you realize what happened and no lingering pain. As for the gravel on your driveway, I own several ...

Re: Another Shock

Robo: Seems like I recall one of your older posts "One shock.....no big deal". That's the attitude I took. Know you would not give bad advice especially since I don't own any golf clubs.

Have trimmer......will travel. For the right price.

Re: Another Shock

@ garya: As for Cardioversion, I've had 2 since November due to A-fib (3 now with yesterday's event). Since it didn't involve the hours I spent in a hospital bed for both prior procedures, no warning, etc., it might be preferable. Also, my only other shock was while driving and what sent me searchin...

Re: Another Shock

Chrissy. I felt so much better after the shock and there was very little to finish, so I did. Was at a friends house and had traveled there to help. I live a very busy life and still work 5 days a week. Not getting things done seems to bring more stress. Love you too.

Another Shock

Driving this morning and experienced a near faint sensation. Only lasted a few seconds but kind of felt unwell afterwards. About 2 hours later, decided to do some lawn work with gas powered weed trimmer. Without warning I received my 2nd shock. The first one was over 3 years ago. A friend was there ...

Re: Test Anxiety

I've had friends and family mention white coat anxiety where their heart rate or blood pressure fluctuates during doctor visits. Personally my mind is usually on what I need to do when I leave. Whether this makes any difference in test results I don't know. Suppose it might affect some.

Chrissy. I don't think your post was too harsh. It may wake some up to a new attitude and we already know how important that is to our health.

Response: Assuming SCD = Sudden Cardiac Death, there could be many answers to your question. First thing that comes to mind is I get to keep living.
