Re: One foot in the grave.!!!

My son-in-law is a funeral director. He removes pacemakers/ICD’s by just taking them out of the “pocket” and cutting the wires; he does not remove leads going into the heart. He has a box he puts them in - quite a collection! No one has ever asked for them back.

My daughter was born on St. Patrick’s Day, so we always celebrate both days! We wear orange, though - it’s a Scottish thing! lmao4dx

Re: WHERE ARE OUR GRUMPY OLD MEN and OUR DELIGHTFUL LADIES

I think I’ve been more a grumpy old lady lately rather than a delightful one! :duh Had another fall and a bout of respiratory infection and have been struggling getting around. Doing PT to help my back, and started Gabapentin for nerve pain - hope it helps! Most troubling thing is the difficulty wit...

Re: good thoughts..and best wishes for Chrissie..

I think we all become more conscious of the value of life after an experience that brings us close to death. I have known the peace of which you speak. When I was being put under for my past heart surgery, I was very anxious at first - I knew that I may not make it out again. But as I lay on the gur...

:::) Yeah! You’re home and on the mend! Take it easy - you’ve had enough excitement for awhile! Takes awhile to get back in the swing of things when you first get home from a hospital stay. Best wishes!

Sorry to hear she’s in the hospital; let’s just hope they get things sorted out for her soon! She’s gone on with this for so long - she needs a break and some good news! Wishing you the best, Chrissy!

Re: Not one thing but another

So sorry you have to go through this! I have a hiatal hernia, which, when aggravated, can be beastly! I can’t imagine what it is like for you to have that constantly consolsmile There is another condition of the stomach in which food just doesn’t move through (I think it’s called gastroparesis - has...

Re: I’m sorry

Sorry for your loss, Leah. I never knew my grandmas , but I am one, and I know how close I am to my grandchildren, and even the thought of my passing breaks my heart for them. I was with my Mom in the end; it is a blessing to be able to have that time. May your heart feel at peace, knowing that love...

Re: Pacing at the same time

I can’t say for sure that this is what is happening with you, but I would have a similar experience every night at 11:56. For me, it felt like “pin pricks”. I was told that our devices perform their own diagnostic tests daily. Do you have a home monitor? Your device will search for the monitor and t...

Re: So....O/T or NOT?

I know what you are talking about! If you go to emergency, and give them the list of the symptoms you are having - plus your history - the first thing on their mind is going to run towards a cardiovascular event and all the drama that brings. (Been there, done that :duh: ). Unfortunately, you are st...

Re: WARNING - GROSS REALITY

There was a lady in cardiac rehab with me that had to have a pacemaker put in following her valve replacement surgery. She was quite thin, and they decided to put hers in her abdomen where she had a little more “covering”. Should you need a replacement, perhaps that could be a consideration for you....
