Re: Gambling with Adrenalin?

Nope, same with skydiving, bungie jumping, hangliding, paragliding, they are also big fat nopes. I get all the adrenaline I need from my parasympathetic nervous system dumping loads of the stuff into my blood stream when it senses any thump or bump from my heart. As far as my nervous is concerned an...

Re: Amiodarone vs Solatol (Betapace)

Thanks Gary, I have had one attempted ablation. Apparently the VT/VF I get isn't suitable for ablation. A bit like whack-a-mole it can pop up anywhere within my heart if it pops up at all. When they attempted the ablation, they couldn't even induce my heart into playing its games. I'm quite anxious ...

I hope you get some good answers as to why this is happening and some better painkillers on Monday.

How long has it been in now?

Amiodarone vs Solatol (Betapace)

Morning / Afternoon / Evening / Night (depending where you live on this blue'ish marble), Has anyone had any experience taking Solatol (Betapace) Or better still, has anyone had any experience switching from Amiodarone to Solatol (Betapace) ? For context; Cardiac arrests kill you quickly unless of c...

Re: Super Cold Weather

I cannot begin to imagine how it must feel with the cold currently being experienced in the US. It is making the news in a big way over here in the UK, the UK that contrary to popular belief has a "Goldilocks" climate where it is never too hot nor too cold. We had a little bit of snow yesterday and ...

Re: a little OT

Me personally; Not in the house where your family will continue to live after the event. I wouldn't want to put that on them. I might of course change my mind when I get older (currently not quite 50) and or when the kids (currently mid/late teens) leave home. I'd always chose to go to hosptial as t...

Re: My ICD battery suddenly went dead...

I think ICD battery indicators are made by the same people who make car fuel gauges.

The last quarter of a tank always goes much quicker than the rest, much quicker.

Re: So....lets do this for the Newbys!!!

And again for anyone new... Most people never recieve a shock. If you do then you can come on here and tell us all about it. In fact this thread reminds of the scene in the film "Jaws" where they are drunkenly sat round the table on the boat telling tales about how they got their respective scars. h...

Re: Sudden cardiac arrest reacurrance

John, It can happen again but for most people it doesn't. Many on here have never been shocked, they join, post a few times to gain understanding of their new circumstances and then you never hear from them again. Bad for the forum but good otherwise as they are simply getting on with life. And if i...

Chrissy,

A horrible dilemma but....

I'd go for the scan as it might help them devise a better treatment that could make things more comfortable for you.

And you, give us hug!

Re: a little OT

I've just dealt with this only a few days ago with my dear Dad (1933-2019) He refused heart valve surgery back in 2016. From then up until about two weeks ago it had been a steady but expected decline which included vascular dementia. He had a fall at home which really weakened him and the decline t...

Re: Thanks

As a newbie, I just want to say thanks for this post - reading these inspiring stories has been helpful. I am very depressed and scared right now, so I really appreciate it. Somehow I need to find the courage that you all have so that I don't let my heart issues take over and ruin my life. Good, gl...
