Well, I had my 8th re-birthday recently.
Does that count?

Re: OT: Today thoughts in the fast lane
Nice words! I can relate!
Reminds me of a quote I ran across that I saved,
Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body,
But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting
“Holy S*#t....What a ride”!

Re: OT-TEST DILEMMA
Tough question but I think I agree with Helen. A decision like that may actually be in my future. It may be 1-2 years from now or it may be 10 years from now for me. My cancer will eventually metastasize somewhere in my body, just not sure how soon or where. The likely areas are bone and lymphatic s...

Re: So....lets do this for the Newbys!!!
Great Idea, I was not in very good condition for about a month in 2011. I had a MI (with a new stent) and about 2 weeks later I had 2 SCAs about 24 hours apart. Sparky came to be a part of my life after that, now 8 years ago. Since then almost nothing has happened. I have slowly gotten better and be...

Chrissy, Been away for a bit and saw this and really didn’t know how to respond. Just know I have the utmost admiration for your courage and ability to keep going with a positive outlook in spite of some of the issues you have been through. Not sure what else to say other than you have all my suppor...

Re: ID Bracelet / Necklace
I wore a necklace with a dog-tag for about 4 years. I'm not sure they are totally necessary but I felt more comfortable with it. After my condition improved I decided that it wasn't as important and I quit wearing it.

Re: This means nothing but just wanted to say....
Hi Stacey, I think we all cope in various ways. For me, anymore, I have to keep meticulous “ToDo” lists at the office to make sure I don’t forget something. My calendars are full of appointments but also many sorts of bs miscellaneous reminders. I didn’t use to be this way at all. I am also much fre...

Re: OT: drug pricing alert
I always thought drugs were overly expensive, but I had no idea until I was diagnosed with cancer. OMG! Thankfully after an insurance deductible, they get paid for. I now have 2 pre-existing conditions and hope to make it to Medicare in 3 years where that won’t matter anymore. But health care costs ...

Re: o/t fluffy cats......
This is Moe, our 20 lb tomcat. He’s a lover but also won’t take any guff from neighborhood varmints. He was in a little altercation last weekend, possibly with a raccoon. He took a little damage but is better today. Not particularly fluffy but a good boy.

Re: So who is ordering the Apple Watch?
I’ve been wearing an Apple Series 1 watch ever since my daughter upgraded to a Series 3. I like it more than I thought I would. However I’m not jumping out to get the Series 4 just because of the price. FitBit, Garmin and others have some pretty nice watches with similar capabilities for a lot less ...

Re: Replacement ICD
Glad the procedure went well. Yeah, purple would be a bit obnoxious but hopefully only temporarily annoying. I recently was able to get a new “cellular” monitor and now save the cost of a landline which we hardly used. Hope the healing is quick

Chrissy, what a wonderful post. To me, essentially you are telling people to not give up and to resist the fear we all get. I have a couple of thoughts. First, I have always felt it was easy to assume the worst, or at least assume that prospects were worse than they actually turn out to be. I am now...

Very very glad you are doing well. Sometimes the anticipation is worse than the actual procedure.

Re: Implant ICD ?
My opinion only, there's a lot of smart people on here, but... I've had my ICD for over 7 years now and it has done nothing except some pacing to 60 bpm at night. And I think most recipients are that way, no shocks or adverse events. Sure there are many who have experienced some real troubles with I...

Re: Update on our members
Hi all and congrats to many of you for new grandkids and other significant life events. Just finishing up on a hectic work season for me and looking forward to a few days off. My heart is doing well, 7 yrs now on my ICD, possible replacement in 3 yrs. Have now done about 3 months of chemo for prosta...
