Re: new subject

I mean I have no remote monitor Remote monitors are part of the package deal that starred your ICD. In my experience in Utah it usually takes a few weeks for it to show up in the mail. Yours may just come at the doctor's office now that I've said that. :duh: The point is you need to talk to the doc...

Re: Ok, I get it

I am tired of writing brilliant well thought out, long responses to posts only to have the message pop up that I must log in to reply to posts when I hit submit and my message is voot, SCA, DOA, GONE, KAPUT. Can't even resuscitate it with a 40 joule jesus jolt. Since this new format was implemented...

Re: Hi all

There are two types of people in the world: Those who divide everyone into two groups. Those who don't. In our little group most (but not all) of us fall into two categories: those who had been fighting or dealing with problems leading to their need for an ICD and those who didn't. I'm in the latter...

Re: Flu Season 2018-So What R U Doing?

Gosh, Gary. You must think the "Science Adviser" sets health research policy and budget. You're wrong. What specifically did I miss in the links? Adviser: noun 1. one who gives advice. 2. Education. a teacher responsible for advising students on academic matters. 3. a fortuneteller. Al, you're much...

Re: ICD unnecessary shocks

Historically, inappropriate shocks seem to have been caused mostly by faulty leads. It's been a while since I've heard of any being recalled or of anyone in our group having that problem. The next most common problem has been errors in the programming of the device, such as the doctor being unaware ...

Re: Welcome gardenguy (doug)

Hi, gardenguy! I'm one of those who's been experiencing a smooth ride since my SCA 8.5 years ago. My 2 CRT-Ds have done a great job of correcting my underlying LBBB. During the first year I had Sotalol added to the mix after having 5 or 6 brief episodes of SVT which the CRT-D corrected with its ATP ...

Re: OT -- Too pretty not to share!

The good news: I saw the total SOLAR eclipse last August. OTOH, at least I didn't spend lots of $ traveling for this lunar eclipse. I just missed out on an hour's sleep to get up early and see a solid cloud cover from horizon to horizon. Inigo Montoya: Who are you? Man in Black: No one of consequenc...

Re: OT -- Too pretty not to share!

If you have a tripod it helps. So does a zoom lens. And even if you don't photograph it, do get out a decent pair of binoculars!

The forecast here is still pathetic... but I have to get up for work anyway. :?

Re: OT -- Too pretty not to share!

Brilliant Ron, hopefully this is the start of a new hobby/interest. The part I find interesting is that it isn't that expensive to set up either. What fun, hope you do get a clear sky for the eclipse. The bad news is the forecast for tomorrow morning calls for clouds. The good news is you're right,...

Re: OT -- Too pretty not to share!

Odd...Bob wouldn't let me post my moon pictures. They are close ups...and much prettier lmao4dx True. Those pictures from the "Oval Office" are not always the best to show on a site (sight) like ours. Some eyes just can't take it. dancee Ahthough the picture Ron put up is fantastic. Thanks, Ron. wa...

Well Ron, time to unpack the Depends for when I tell you what is coming Wednesday.
Yep, I know about it and will have my telescope set up to do a series of photos during the eclipse... but the local weather forecast isn't favorable.

OT -- Too pretty not to share!

I don't yet have a fancy telescope that can track stars and take long exposures of them. But the moon is a different story! https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lNHaWaUV8go/Wm6ublfBhsI/AAAAAAAAABg/85Za6HviggMg0oYqObrUdO1r343nR9TswCEwYBhgL/s1600/Luna%2BTonight.jpg That photo was taken from my hometown, in the ...
