Re: Returning to work after ICD implantation

Probably depends on why you are getting the ICD. Does your state have driving restrictions? Mine has none unless the doctor reports back to state DOT . I had my ICD implanted out of state (emergency) so I had to have all the diagnostic testing and then they implanted the ICD, was in overnight, then ...

Re: Our friend Chrissie....

Chrissy has meant so much to me over the years. One of the first ones to welcome me to the group and chime in on my newbie questions. Thinking of you Lauren and will keep you in my prayers.

Re: S-ICD Bruising

I still had a small amount of discoloration 9 months later. I remember the scar was well healed and I took a picture of it. I just looked at it and still see some faint bruising above the scar. I think it is dependent on the individual and perhaps how the EP had to place the unit.

Re: Here We Go Again

So what you're saying is don't open emails from Robo Pop because they have links to a program that will re-write your will to give him your golf clubs and then turn off your ICD. lmao4dx lmao4dx

Re: ICD and security clearance

When I was still employed (not a government job) I had a security clearance in case I needed to be sent someplace where it was required, but this question never came up.

Re: VF Experience - Give and Take

John - So glad to hear that your ablation went well. When I had mine I also did a step down of Sotalol and then came off it completely.

Re: New Guy

Yes, it is all where you live as to regulations - and to a certain extent if your doctors report you, as Chrissy has said. Now if you hold a CDL type license and are driving a big rig, all bets may be off. There are others on the group who have that experience and can speak to it. I'm just talking a...

Re: Amiodarone vs Solatol (Betapace)

When I was still on the drugs (pre-ablation) Sotalol was far easier on my body than Amiodarone and gave about the same results. I would still have a therapy about every 6 months. But a month after the switch I noticed a real pick up in energy and alertness going on Sotalol.

Re: New News

Dear Chrissy, I'm so sorry to hear that cancer has come back again. But frankly, you are one of the best survivors I've ever known and believe you will once again prove the doctors wrong in all of their estimates. Your indomitable spirit always cheers me up, even when I want to have my own pity part...

Re: Reaction to being shocked

Dale - I think you'll find a wide range of answers. I think the main thing to understand would be what is likely to happen to you just prior to the shock. For example, I begin to feel faint. I don't actually pass out, so I've always felt I was o.k. driving. That I could slow down, move over to side....

Re: Pharmacy and Xarelto

I think Pharmacists are being pushed to be more proactive about patient understanding and overall medication use. My cardiologist in process of changing me from Lisinopril to Entresto. You have to stop Lisinopril 48 hours before taking Entresto. That was all explained by my cardio. But when I went t...

Re: OT- My submission is in

You go Chrissy! It is fantastic that you may be able to address these concerns at a national conference. It seems that in the U.S.A., with so much competition between health care systems (hospital chains), I've experienced more and more patient focused care. But I also think that for me it has come ...
