Re: ICD and surgery

I had my gallbladder removed and they turned it off. I also had a colonoscopy and they didn't turn it off. I think it depends on the procedure and probably the doctor. Both of those surgeries were several years after it was implanted.

Re: OT: Ladies only, taking warfarin

Never heard of this. I 've been taking warfarin for several years now. That would be a total nightmare and I'd be in the doc's office yesterday! smilebounce

Re: Medicare Part D drug plans 2014 (US)

I just started looking at plans today. Right now I have Kaiser, but it looks as though I can get my two expensive prescriptions cheaper with other plans. And I'm so upset with my doctors for not knowing the side effects of one of my medications that I can't bring myself to go to see any of them. So ...

Mark:

I'm not on here much lately, but I was unhappy to hear about your health issues. Here's hoping you get back on your feet soon.

Re: Low blood pressure??

Mine was really low for a while, too. So low I would fall asleep. They reduced the medication, and it's much better. Bob is so much healthier than I am. When mine is too low, I eat something with salt--like potato chips! Not really a smart idea. nononono I asked this question a few years back and go...

Re: Toxic Drugs

Thanks for all the replies. I wish I had thought of the drug causing the problems sooner. Chrissy: I did a lot of research on line about it--but just recently. I think only about 10% at most of patients will respond like I did. We all just need to make sure when we are having strange symptoms that w...

Re: HELP! Advice on Gastric LapBand/Sleeve Gastrectomy/G-Bypass

Flossie: My entire family has a weight problem. Three of my cousins (siblings) in CA had by-pass surgery. It only worked well for one of them. Two of my first cousins' daughters had lap band surgery. They are young (in their late 20's and early 30's) and have been up and down with their weight. I sa...

Toxic Drugs

Hi everyone: I wanted to let you know about my long (4 year) experience with a drug that practically put me in a wheel chair. After I was diagnosed with "non-compaction syndrome" and had my ICD implanted, the doctors decided that my blood pressure had to be kept at a very low level. I was prescribed...

Re: Medicare Enrollment

Mary Kay: I totally agree. I went to Kaiser to get some extra days of a medication because I didn't order from the mail order soon enough. The guy treated me like I was so stupid that I had done that. It had happened previously and I didn't feel as though the employee thought I was an idiot. Then I ...

Bob:

That's what I saw also. I don't have any of those symptoms. But if my EP wants to take me off this drug, it's fine with me. It's expensive and I don't trust it one single bit.

Multaq

Hello Everyone: I know I posted about this drug ages ago, but I have a question and I wonder if anyone has heard anything about this. I saw my cardiologist today and he said there were new warnings about this drug and that maybe I should stop taking it. He didn't say what the new warnings were and I...

Re: RE: Grapefruit

Mrag's comments about grapefruit may have been a bit flippant, but the danger is very real. I used to drink grapefruit daily, and now pay close attention to what drugs I take. One of my prescriptions actually says 'do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice at any time while taking this medica...
